Access to the sand is better than most visitors expect. The Town of East Hampton lends beach wheelchairs free at all its lifeguard beaches while the guards are on duty, and lays accessible beach mats each summer at Atlantic Avenue and Indian Wells. The Town of Southampton has beach wheelchairs at several of its beaches when an attendant or lifeguard is present, and a full ramp and deck at Hot Dog Beach.
Ask on the day. Chairs are kept by the lifeguards, so they are available only while the guards are on duty.

At Southampton Town beaches, the chair is available when an attendant or lifeguard is on duty. Hither Hills has an accessible swimming beach with accessible showers, and the park office can answer other accessibility questions.
