Hamptons Beach Day is published by Liberty Design Studio. It covers the experience of the beach: calm water or surf, lifeguards and when they work, dogs, sunsets, safety and how to string a day together. It is not affiliated with any town, village, county or state park, or with any beach operator.
The permit and parking side of the same beaches lives on Hamptons Beach Pass, so these pages link there instead of repeating prices. Restaurants live on Eat Hamptons, getting here on Hamptons Commute, and living here full-time on Hamptons Year Round. Rentals are on Hamptons Key, which is part of the same network.
How we check facts
Every lifeguard season, hour, dog rule and facility on a beach page comes from the page of the town, village, county or state agency that runs the beach, read in October 2026. Each page lists its sources with links and the month checked. Where an operator publishes nothing on a point, the page says so instead of filling the gap.
Three kinds of facts get different treatment. Rules and hours are quoted from the operator and dated. Measurements are computed from public data: water temperature is NOAA's Montauk station averaged over 2021 to 2025, and sunset times use NOAA's solar position method for the central South Fork. Descriptions of character, such as which beaches suit small children, are our reading of those facts plus the geography, and we say when a judgment is ours.
We do not invent reviews, ratings, quotes or people. Photos are openly licensed or public domain, credited on the page and listed on the sources page. Archival photographs are labeled as archival.
Corrections
Rules change every spring, and 2027 rules are usually announced in winter. If something here is out of date or wrong, write to hello@hamptonsbeachday.com and name the page. We correct the page and change its checked date.
