Cooper’s is the Village of Southampton’s one fully staffed beach, and the obvious pick for a family or a first-time visitor. It has lifeguards and beach attendants, fresh showers and restrooms, concessions and rentals, and it is the only one of the Village’s eleven beaches with a lifeguard.
2026 hours: weekends 9am to 5pm from May 23, weekdays from June 20, and 9am to 6pm on weekends from July 4 to September 7. 2026 rentals: $16 for a chair, $21 for an umbrella, $11 for a teak table and $200 for a cabana. The Village streams a live camera of the beach and posts daily information on the beach’s Instagram account, which is the fastest way to check conditions before you drive. Alcohol and pets are not permitted.
The water is the open Atlantic, so the lifeguard’s flag matters more than the date on the calendar. This is the only Village beach that sells a daily pass, in person from the booth attendants, and Hamptons Beach Pass has the fees and permits.
On the Village’s unguarded beaches, Southampton Village Ocean Rescue, a volunteer group, responds by 911 dispatch. More beaches are in Southampton, and the lifeguard calendar compares seasons across the fork.
