Big Albert’s Landing answers the Amagansett question: where can the kids swim without an ocean in their face? It is a lifeguarded bay beach on Napeague Bay, shallower and quieter than Atlantic Avenue Beach, with accessible restrooms, picnic tables, cooking grills and nature trails on the same land.

Guards start at 10am, an hour after the ocean beaches, and leave at 5pm. The park is open from sunrise to sunset, so walk it at dawn before the guards arrive or at dusk after they leave. The beach faces north across the bay. Groups can reserve the picnic area through Parks and Recreation at 631-324-2417.

Swim only in the marked area with a guard on duty. A free surf wheelchair is available from the guards. Vehicles are allowed on the sand in designated areas with a Town drive-on pass, and the summer dog rule is the 300-foot bay version, which loosens after September 15. Hamptons Beach Pass covers parking and permits.

Next door, Little Albert’s Landing is quieter and has no guards, so use it for the picnic and Big Albert’s for the swim. The calm-water ranking shows where this beach sits among the bay options on the fork.
