Beaches in East Quogue

A small beach and a big one, both run by the Town of Southampton.

East Quogue has two public ocean beaches on Dune Road, both run by the Town of Southampton: Hot Dog Beach, officially Triton Beach, and Tiana Beach. They share the Town’s rules: lifeguards 10am to 5pm whenever the beach is open, no alcohol or glass, and no dogs at beach facilities from April 1 to October 1.

They differ in scale. Hot Dog Beach has about 100 parking spots, a new restroom building finished in 2024 and an accessible ramp and deck. Tiana has more than 1,000 feet of shorefront, 847 parking spaces, a food concession and volleyball courts.

Tiana Bayside Recreational Facility is where the Town runs swimming lessons and sailing, kayaking and windsurfing programs. The bayside has no lifeguard on duty, so it works for supervised lessons and for adults, not for unsupervised children.

The Town’s listing places Tiana at 90 Dune Road in Hampton Bays, while Hamptons Beach Pass files it under East Quogue. Either way both sit on Dune Road, the barrier-beach road. For permits and parking see Hamptons Beach Pass, and for the water itself the rip current guide.
