Tiana is the big, practical Town of Southampton ocean beach in East Quogue. It has more than 1,000 feet of shorefront, lifeguards, restrooms, an outdoor shower, a food concession, a deck with picnic benches and beach volleyball courts. There is room for crowds, and 847 parking spaces, the most of any Town beach.
Across Dune Road sits the Tiana Bayside Recreational Facility, where the Town runs swimming lessons and sailing, kayaking and windsurfing programs. The bayside has no lifeguard, but it is calmer water than the ocean and a useful training ground. If the ocean is rough, the combination is the closest thing on Dune Road to a two-water plan. The calm water guide explains when to choose it.
The address is 90 Dune Road, Hampton Bays, though Hamptons Beach Pass files it under East Quogue. The family beaches guide compares it with Ponquogue and Sagg Main. Dogs are barred from April 1 to October 1. The Tiana Beach Activity Center, a seasonal event venue, holds up to 125 guests and needs a facility use permit. Permits and daily parking are on Hamptons Beach Pass.
