Cupsogue is the Suffolk County barrier-beach park at the western end of Dune Road, at 975 Dune Road in Westhampton. It covers 296 acres of white sand with lifeguarded swimming and some of the best saltwater bass fishing on the Island. Because the park runs from ocean to bay, it offers two kinds of water in one visit: surf on the south side and quieter water on the north.

It is also a place to camp. Campers and recreational vehicles are permitted along the access road that parallels the outer beach, and a Recreational Vehicle Permit is required for outer-beach access and camping. Diving is allowed at slack tide on the bay side only, in water about twelve feet deep. Drone flying and metal detecting have their own county rules.

That mix of surf, fishing and camping gives Cupsogue a very different feel from the village beaches nearby. The surf fishing guide covers the angling side. Parking fees run Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, 8:30am to 5pm, and can change with the lifeguard season. Permits and parking are on Hamptons Beach Pass.
