Water Mill has one public ocean beach, Flying Point Beach, at 1055 Flying Point Road. The Town of Southampton lists 250 feet of Atlantic shoreline, lifeguard protection, an outdoor shower, a mobile concession and a beach wheelchair when a lifeguard is on duty.
It is small enough to fill, so the useful move is to know the neighbors. Mecox Beach in Bridgehampton is the next Town beach east, and Cooper’s Beach in Southampton Village is the staffed beach to the west.

| Beach | Where | Run by | Lifeguards |
|---|---|---|---|

The Town’s facilities page said only full-season permits were accepted at Flying Point, while the 2026 map lists daily parking Monday to Friday, excluding holidays. That difference is why Hamptons Beach Pass is the page to check before you go.
Water Mill also has Mecox Inlet access at the end of Flying Point Road, an unguarded access road that the Town lets dog owners use before 9am and after 6pm from July 1 to Labor Day. The Town lists no lifeguards on access roads, so use it for a walk.
