Kirk Park is the Montauk ocean beach you can walk to from the village. It sits at 53 South Emerson Avenue beside the IGA, which lets a day here run in short loops: groceries, a bathroom, a nap, back to the water. Guards work 9am to 5pm and a food truck serves the sand.

Parking is sold by the session. The Town offers an eight-hour session by phone or QR code, or accepts a Town permit, and Hamptons Beach Pass lays out the rest. Vehicles reach the sand only with a Town drive-on pass, and not between 10am and 6pm from the Thursday before Memorial Day to September 15.

The water is the same open Atlantic as Ditch Plains, so do not assume small waves. On a big swell the guards keep the swimming area tight, and surfers may use the edges. Restrooms open mid-May to mid-October. The beach stays open all year, and from about November to January the sun sets out over the ocean, which makes it a good winter-evening walk from town.

South Edison is a few blocks east on the same stretch, and Ditch Plains is a short drive for surf. Compare them all on the Montauk page, or pick lunch from Montauk restaurants on Eat Hamptons.
