Georgica is East Hampton Village’s guarded beach for people who would rather watch the waves than the crowd. It sits at the end of Lily Pond Lane, one of three Village beaches with lifeguards from 10am to 5pm, and it shares the Village’s color-flag system with Main Beach and Two Mile Hollow.
It is also a surf beach. Georgica is an exposed beach-and-jetty break that works year-round, best with a southwest swell, and surfing here means negotiating strong rips. If you are swimming, stay inside the guarded flags and keep an eye on the surf area. The rip current guide is worth a read before you go in, and the surf breaks guide puts Georgica next to its neighbors.
No fishing, watercraft or surfboards are allowed in designated swimming areas. Dogs are not allowed 9am to 6pm from May 15 to September 15. Parking and permits are on Hamptons Beach Pass.
