Louse Point is a working beach in Springs. It has a launching ramp that needs a Town parking or launch permit and vehicle access on the harbor side for permit holders, and nothing else: no lifeguards, no restrooms, no concession. Swimming is prohibited when no guard is on duty, so the people here are launching small boats, casting a line or walking.

That puts it in the same family as the other Springs bay landings, Gerard Drive and Flaggy Hole. If you came to swim with children, Maidstone Park Beach a few minutes away has guards from 10am, a pavilion and a playground. Before towing a boat, call Parks and Recreation at 631-324-2417 about the launch rules.

The beach is open year-round. Dogs should be under control, with summer limits from 10am to 6pm between May 15 and September 15. Permits and drive-on rules are on Hamptons Beach Pass. See the East Hampton page for the rest of the shoreline.
