Foster Memorial Beach, always called Long Beach, is the Hamptons’ best-supported bay beach. It has more than a mile of shorefront on Noyac Bay, a lifeguarded swimming area with marked boundaries, restrooms, outdoor showers, a mobile concession and a beach wheelchair when a lifeguard is on duty. Sailboats and powerboats stay in a separate area from swimmers, which matters on a busy weekend.

The water is bay water: no surf to speak of and, in a typical summer, warmer than the ocean. That is why parents choose it, and the calm water guide ranks it near the top. The huge parking area is popular for walking, biking and in-line skating, and the Town runs programs here in summer. With 419 parking spaces, you rarely arrive to a full lot.

The address is 1000 Noyack-Long Beach Road. Dogs are barred from April 1 to October 1. The beach faces north across the bay, so evenings can be good: see sunset beaches. Permits and daily parking are on Hamptons Beach Pass.
